Sleep Out in Centennial Park to help raise awareness and funds for World Homeless Day 10.10.10. All funds raised from the event go to Mission Australia Youth Homelessness Services.

Did you know that on any given night in Australia, 105000 men, women and children are homeless and about half are under the age of 25? (ABS 2008. Counting the Homeless, 2006. Australian Census Analytic Program)

Sleeping under the stars in Sydney’s beautiful Centennial Park surrounded by friends and family, music and food in no way compares to the cold, lonely and hungry nights of our city’s many homeless people. However, this is a unique opportunity to raise awareness for their plight and to raise funds for the tireless work undertaken by Mission Australia every day and night.

On 10.10.10 do something to help. Register and sleep out in Centennial Park, get your family & friends to sponsor you. On the night there will be buskers, entertainers and food stalls AND a sausage sizzle for dinner and breakfast to help raise funds. Tents are optional. There will be security on site so children of all ages are welcome but all children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
